Today, I got shut in the walk-in freezer at work. I started banging on the door. My boss wouldn't come and open it because she didn't "play games". She thought I was kidding. FML

how is that possible? all of the walkin fridges and frezzers i've been in are possible to get out of with no help.

I'm no expert on freezers, but I did get locked in a room once when the doorknob broke. I assume it may be possible for an inside freezer latch to malfunction also.

Well now you've got a new story to break the ice at parties.

If there is a noise from inside the freezer how is it a trick? That doesn't add up...

Like an above comment alluded to, the boss probably assumed OP knew how to open the door themself and was messing around. Every one I've ever been in has some sort of method for opening the door from the inside to avoid this exact situation.

I guess the freezers I am used to have only out door access...

to sum up what #17 said each walk-in freezer/ frigerator has an emergency latch on the inside of the door to prevent this from happening. but thing is some models don't have this and others can be broken. I'm guessing op didn't know how to open it from the inside or the latch could have been broken off. hope this helps.

Look on the bright side. Maybe you'll get to star in the next T-Mobile commercial... I mean you're cold, but you're not stupid.

New fun game at work, from the makers of "Can you dig your own grave?" comes "Can you spot the frostbitten employee?" To play just follow these simple steps. Step one: Put employee (willing or otherwise) into a walk in freezer that only opens from the outside and close the door. Step two: Wait for half a day and open. Let the frostbitten employee intermingle with the other employees and then try to spot the difference. If at any time the employee attempts to get out of the freezer, remind them that "you don't play games."

Why isn't there a safety thing on the inside of the walk in fridge?

I work in an ice cream shop.. Lol I am terrified of getting stuck in the freezer.. FYL

I think someone already said that. don't piggyback off of someone else's jokes. its bad taste.

That seems so unsafe if there's no latch on the inside... even our narcotic vault and walk-in fridge in my hospital have inside latches in case the door gets shut.

I wouldn't mind getting locked inside a narcotics vault.

Is that because you are a narcotic? I heard bacon was addictive.
