Today, I interviewed for a call center job making $13/hr, the only job where they called back. I used to live in a doorman luxury apartment in Manhattan with a prime skyline view and clubhouse. That was last month. FML

wtf? what happened? you are ridiculous. try rewriting this one so you don't make everyone on this site feel as small as your penis.

a) $13/hr in NYC is like $6/hr in most of the rest of the country when you factor in cost of living. Almost anywhere else, it's great. But NYC is INSANELY expensive. b) If you could afford the Manhattan Penthouse, most of you'd have one too. So, you can't really come down on him too hard about that. Now, that being said, I have absolutely no sympathy for you. People like you are the reason everyone else is suffering. Maybe this will teach you to appreciate the value of hard work and earning what you have.

$10.26/hr and I bought a house on that here in Charleston, SC, at age 21. If you can't get by on the $13/hr in NYC, you should consider moving somewhere less expensive until the market turns around.

Sounds like one of the NBA players who complained they couldn't feed their children making 10M+ a year.

Sorry that life sucks for you, but 13/hr is pretty friggin good, no matter WHERE you live. I live in San jose, Ca and used to live in NYC, so I'd know that that is still pretty good

wow that totally sucks for you. i used to live in beverly hills and moved to NYC last month and currently like in a $17,000,000 penthouse on the UES.. i would ******* die twice if i lost this life. best of luck to you.

#33 thats awfully mean. Don't come to this site to bloody show off your 17 million dollar penthouse. I'm glad i left America. People like you; yeah the top 10% of the economically 'awesome' own more than 90% of the bottom 'eh-not-doing-so-well' You guys live off the 90% so I don't see why you shouldn't try it out one day. Most people in America are greedy, and I've heard people say while walking in Los Angeles that they want to be rich and leave everyone else poor and helpless. So I don't know about you, or how you got to the top of the food chain but you can piss off and stop showing off on this site and stop bringing your prejudice to the table, and if you do even donate to the poor, oh please donate more because they are the ones who really need the money. If only the country would tax the rich more than the poor then we wouldn't be in this economic crisis :P

$13 an hour is not good money for someone who actually holds a good degree, respected qualifications and experience. It's everyone else here who needs to stop whining about their own pathetic lives. #20 got it almost right, until the last line. Judging by the general nature of comments, in his situation, I doubt any of the negative posters here would have been intelligent enough and had the foresight to save money, and instead would have probably blown it to a larger extent.

Come on you guys stop hating on him because he use to make money, it's sickening actually, the economy is ******** on most people right now and having that life taken away from you has to be tough he lived and worked for what he had this country is designed so anyone can be succesful, yes it's harder for some than others, but seriously try and move on up the ladder if you're so unhappy with your situation and don't claim to be happy and hate on others for their troubles or even if you're unhappy try and show him a little sympathy/ empathy.... That being said he is lucky to have found a job but 13/hr really isn't that great especially for NYC and for the position he was formally in and worked and we don't know the rest of his economic situation

Comment 36 was exactly what I was going to say. I'm in a really tough situation making close to nothing, at 17, and raising a baby on my own. But no matter how good 13$/hour sounds, I'm sure the transition from whatever they were making to what they're making now is worse that what most of us are going through. Don't bash when you don't live the life of the person on the other end.

awwwww... im srry. life sux, and urs certainly does. FYL.

Tough! Man up! A lot of people have to feed themselves *and* their family on less than that. Be glad you found a job in an office with air conditioning making that kind of money. Man up you whiner.
