I feel bad for you, I really do...But speaking as someone who spent childhood on welfare and is now working through daily pain to make $7.25 an hour and being kept just -barely- under 40 hours, living paycheck to paycheck...I hope through this you learn to save your money and start budgeting a little. Really, even if you had your old job and were still making tons of money, things like buying the cheaper store brands when you go grocery shopping and keeping a car for more than two or three years won't kill you. (I don't know that you personally do or don't do that, but those are a couple of things that kinda irk me about people who actually have money. Seriously, why buy a brand new car when yours still works just fine. -.-;;)
I used to work in a call center before I had my son and it sucked! but thankfully my husband has a good job and I was able to quit and stay home with our son. but it really does suck for you. we put as much as we can each paycheck into savings but it still wouldn't cover our bills for long if something like that happened. $13 an hour isn't really all that much either. sure when i was a kid making $6 an hour it seemed like alot but with a mortgage car insurance and everything even living in a small town $13an hour wouldn't cover much. good luck finding a better paying job.
My husband, daughter and I live on one minimum wage job because daycare is more than I would make at a job, so stop whining. At least you have a job and a place to live. I'm assuming you have food, too. Three things that a lot of people would kill for, so stop feeling sorry for yourself and be happy with what you do have. (P.S. Both my husband and I are college graduates, but with the economy, neither of us can find a good job.)
Then you should understand his situation. FML is where ppl go to post shit that happens to them that sucks. So if he should stop "whining" then so should everyone else. And FML wouldn't exist anymore. Not only that, but you're whining right now. So stfu and gtfo.
Dude.. Seriously that is the worse FML ever man.. What the **** happened?
shoulda put some $$ in savings instead of wasting it on an overpriced Manhatten condo. you get no sympathy here!!!
Exactly my thoughts. Having at least 6 months emergency fund would have saved him.
I don't feel one ounce of sorrow for you. Be happy with $13 an hour. There are a lot of people that can't even get a job right now.

wtf? what happened? you are ridiculous. try rewriting this one so you don't make everyone on this site feel as small as your penis.
a) $13/hr in NYC is like $6/hr in most of the rest of the country when you factor in cost of living. Almost anywhere else, it's great. But NYC is INSANELY expensive. b) If you could afford the Manhattan Penthouse, most of you'd have one too. So, you can't really come down on him too hard about that. Now, that being said, I have absolutely no sympathy for you. People like you are the reason everyone else is suffering. Maybe this will teach you to appreciate the value of hard work and earning what you have.
