Today, I lost my laptop, but I have my old childhood computer to use. It's password-protected, and the hint to the password is "meaner than Hera." I haven't been into Greek mythology since I was a kid, and if anything, this computer has just shown me how dumb I've gotten over the years. FML

HeckIfIKnow tells us more.

So I never figured it out (although I'm pretty sure it wasn't the God of Farts) but the computer was really old anyway, so I'm just gonna borrow my mom's / use the one allotted to me at work until I can afford a new one. Thanks for the suggestions!

You haven't gotten dumber, your interests changed. When I was a kid I could name scores of dinosaurs off the top of my head. Today I can barely manage a dozen.

I think the real FML in this situation is that you lost your laptop.. That's more of an indication of intelligence than a password.

So I'm not the only person that's been using a childhood password from when I was 10

I loved Greek mythology as a kid too but I have not got a clue who was worse than Hera, she was so evil. I would love to the answer if you figure it out.

I was thinking Medusa, Hecate, Circe, or even Medea. Or any of the Furies...

I know when I was a kid, the answer would have been my mother.

@26 Medusa, by some accounts, was a young human woman raped a god and cursed with a hideous face and venomous serpents for hair by a goddess - can't blame her for hating men or anyone else.

I know. I always felt kind of sorry for Medea, too. Doesn't make their own crimes less terrible...

whoever said Hecate really needs to do their research because Hecate was NOT evil. Goddess of darkness does not equate evil.

I think it was either Hera or Aphrodite that cursed her...

There are actually many stories for medusa. One was that she boasted of her beauty to everyone and said she was more beautiful than Athena, thus Athena cursing her for being so vain. Another says she was devouted to Athena and took a vow to never wed/have kids. But she broke her vows with Poseidon. Whatever story it is all agree she was very beautiful and Athena ended up cursing her. Turning her blonde hair to snakes.

Neither. It was Athena because she found Poseidon and medusa making out in her temple

It's Hades. Didn't y'all see that Disney movie?

I feel like it's the OP's childhood bully.

#55: I feel like I got hit by a wave of downvotes from people who are too young to remember Disney movies in the 90s.

No, just people who hate Disney period. Oh yeah, and one more from me.

@16, Disney has an inaccurate depiction of all myths that their stories are based off of.

Well she's technically a primordial god in Greek mythology she was mother of the titans. So no not just Mother Earth. She's a supreme being and if you ever read the Percy Jackson series the newer ones with both the roman and the Greek pantheons she is portrayed as a somewhat darker goddess

Percy Jackson is a fiction book aimed at Tweens. Not to sound like I'm bashing it, I absolutely love the Percy Jackson series and the spinoff series Heroes of Olympus. But it's not that accurate.

Eh it might not be entirely accurate because it's a fiction series, but most of the mythology is pretty sound. It just takes a different way if viewing things.

Maybe Athena? she wasn't necessarily mean but she did turn Arachne into a spider for weaving better than her and turned Medusa into the gorgon. Aphrodite maybe, she started the Trojan war because the king of Troy forgot to offer her something at marriage. But Hera's definitely the top bitch.

Aphrodite was given as a bribe. Or did she give the bribe?

I believe it was because the prince of Troy eloped with Helen, the princess of Sparta. The bribe, I think, was a golden apple. I'm not sure.

A prince of Troy was asked to pick the most beautiful godess of Hera, Athena and Aphrodite. Naturally, they all bribed him. He settled on Aphrodite and was rewarded with the most beautiful human, Helen, that happened to be married to Menelaos, the Spartan Ruler. So when his wife was taken away, he started the Trojan war. Eris is partly to blame as she was the one who instigated the competition of the godesses.

I'd also go with Athena. According to some legends she turned Medusa's hair into snakes as punishment for being raped in her temple by Poseidon. Athena didnt do anything to Poseidon but she accused Medusa of defiling her temple. I've heard that there's another version of the legend where she transformed Medusa to protect her from ever being raped again but I'm not sure. If you heard the first legend, Athena could be the password.

Doesn't need to be a female deity, you know.

That's what I was thinking, unless OP has an older sister.
