Today, I'm sleeping in a hotel with my grandparents for 2 days. They both talked in their sleep and snored for almost 3 hours straight, so I moved into the bathtub in the tiny bathroom to try to get some sleep. Just as I was falling asleep, the showerhead started to leak. Back to square one. FML

Hey guys! OP here. My grandpa has sinus problems so his snoring is way more severe than most people's is. He and my grandmother both were talking in their sleep on top of it. I waited it out and tried my headphones for almost 3 hours before i decided to move. The hotel room only has a bathroom and bedroom, no couch, so it was the only place I could go. The tub may seem a little over the top, but my grandparents are older and have bladder control problems. They need to go to the bathroom multiple times a night, and I didn't want to make them have to step over me. I ended up going out to buy some sleep aids and my grandmother brought some of those snoring strips for him to try. Fingers crossed it works!

Snore louder to assert dominance. That'll shut them up.

Thank you! I did try it, but I have a hard time falling asleep when I'm leaning on an earphone. We're here because they had a fire in their house and a repair crew is working to fix the damage. I came up with them because they're stressed out so I think I'll just tough it out if it gives them some peace of mind.

As someone who's really sensitive to noise and has to have it completely quiet to be able to sleep - people suggesting ear plugs, have you ever used earplugs? They block out like.. maybe rain in the background or shower noise, and that's about it. They won't help against aything that causes vibrations (music, walking, snoring) nor anything louder than a whisper (well whisper's actually louder than talking quietly). The only use I find for them is that if you've already fallen asleep, they create a block between your brain and the noise for a bit longer, but are useless for falling asleep. Feel free to suggest any other ideas or decent earplugs, I'm all ears (pun included), but don't say 'try earplugs', cause I promise you everyone with this issue has already tried them.

Yes, there are better earplugs out there that block out snoring pretty well. The ones that can be taken seriously write on their packaging how many decibel and what range of frequency they block out. They also have different sizes so you can get the ones that fit your ears best. I have a pack by Macks that work pretty well against snoring, and I also like the silicone ones by them, they don't block as well, but are more comfortable to sleep with.

Hey op! Try noise cancelling earplugs (the orange foam kind they use in factories) works a lot better than headphones!!
