WolfAvenge tells us more.
I did tell them before they ate it, I was handing over the plate to him as I told him what was in it. I would never give someone food without them knowing what was in it in case they were allergic; he just over reacted. I've never done drugs or was an issue child in the past so I'm not sure why he thought I put something else in them! Needless to say they loved the brownies once I convinced them it was just cinnamon.

ydi for telling somebody there is a special ingredient in there food, there should be no surprises in food, people should know what they are eating before they eat it, even if its cinnamon
Dude, relax.
Actually I agree. I'm allergic to peppers which shows up in all kinds of unexpected places. I went to a restaurant and their "Margarita" contained habanero sour. If I hadn't asked I'd be dead. It feels stupid to ask but better safe than sorry. Anyone with an allergy to a common food probably feels the same way.
Hey, I wouldn't have eaten them if you told me there was a "special ingredient". You never know what people put in brownies anymore haha. Look at all the drugged Halloween candy that people try and give out.
Well I am sorry he's a bit paranoid but now I must try this
What if someone at the party had been allergic to cinnamon? My sister is and she would not have been happy.
It's weird how many don't think sneaking stuff into food is harmless. You don't know the reaction allergy or other someone will have and a disturbing number of people think dosing someone's food is a harmless prank. Good on the dad, if it isn't anything to be worried about why not just tell him before things went that far?
I don't have allergies so I'd like some perspective. If you have, say, a cinnamon allergy and you go to a party, do you 1) avoid foods that could potentially have it? 2) avoid only foods that probably or certainly have it? or 3) inquire about all foods that potentially have it?
46, i would inquire. I have an intolerance to blueberries and i ask.
I have an allergy to hazelnuts, which get paired with a lot of things as filler, so I generally ask about anything that I can't see an ingredient list for.
it sounds like he might need some of the "other special ingredient" he needs to chill tf out

Glad it ended up turning out okay, OP.
Then the placebo effect came into play
So that's what people today call them
I love cinnamon in brownies! Top it off with cream cheese icing and it's even better!

You should have looked around like you were about to do something illegal then said in a whisper "cinnamon"
I mean you can't blame him for thinking that if you said you added "special" ingredients
