Today, I returned from a half-month long trip to China with a group of friends. After throwing myself into my mother's arms and bursting into tears, she stops me to say 'Listen...these last couple of weeks have been some of the best I've ever had. Can we try to keep it like that?' FML

Today, while making New Year's resolutions, I realized that I haven't hung out with anybody other than my family in over two years and I started crying. When my mom came in and I explained why I was crying, she replied, "Well that sucks. I'm off to have lunch with some friends. See you later!" FML

Today, I told my mom about how my friend is going to China for a year instead of college. My mom suggested that I could do the same. When I told her that a trip to China is probably more expensive than my college tuition, my mom replied, "Not for a one way ticket". FML

I get that you missed your mom --- and that's natural! But full-on sobbing and throwing yourself into her arms IS a bit much... It just sounds like you might be a BIT overly dependent and clingy towards her. That makes it understandable that she might like a nice break from tending to you every now and again... My god. All these people getting on the OP's back about missing her mother, get a life. Maybe she has depression. Maybe something happened to her or a friend while she was gone. Who knows what happened? Don't just judge her as being a crybaby without any more goddamn information. If there wasn't a reason like that, who the hell cares? So she missed her mom, big frigging deal. Grow the hell up. The only problem I have is that you missed such a bitch.

Well I partially agree. I understand her missing her mom. And yes the crying Could possibly be backed up. BUT her mom could have also been joking. My mom says stuff like that all the time.

I would feel terrible if my mother told me that! I don't care how long she was gone, but the fact she cares that much for her mother is touching. Also, China might of been a huge culture shock to her. Well, personally I think that her mother acted terrible!
