Yeah, not going to feel bad for your rich ass.
Doing a remodel doesn't mean someone is rich. My parents have done two remodels on our house and we don't have much. The first after a house fire due to a wiring error. The second after pipes burst and flooded our house. They were both covered by insurance because someone screwed up.
how did you find the receipt? Was it left by your broken bike chain. I'm confused.
If you kept the receipt, take it to customer service, tell them what happened, and give it to them. Each receipt has a barcode on it that employees can scan. If the thief payed with a card, that barcode will bring up their information. Even if they didn't use a card, the receipt will tell them the time and date the saw was purchased, and at which register, for security footage to pin down the thief.
Everyone is talking about security cameras, which of course is a good idea, but the sad thing is it's more than likely that other customers saw the thief and no one stopped him.
The next FML: Today, I got a new bicycle for the cost of a hacksaw. Unfortunately I left the receipt with my fingerprints and transaction time stamp they could match up with the security camera footage.
I need a better lock

he's an idiot. The receipts have time stamps. Talk to the staff, identify who bought a hacksaw around that time and done
Did they pay with card? That can be used to find them.
