Today, after having finally kicked my insomnia's ass after three hours, I was woken up by something I only thought happened in movies. Someone had paid for a Mariachi band to play for their girlfriend, outside my apartment, in the middle of the night. FML

Today, my neighbours had an extremely loud party, which began at midnight and didn't end until 6. I know this because I had a 15 minute sleep, seeing as I had to wake up at quarter past. FML

Noise cancelling anyone?

Today, just like every workday for the last 6 months, the construction workers in my building made loud noises in the morning and woke me up almost 2 hours before I would otherwise have to get up. This will continue for one more year. I'm not a morning person, and I live in a protected historical building. FML

Today, like every other day since I moved into this apartment a year ago, the construction crew started their noisy work at 5:30 in the morning. When I moved in I was promised it was a quiet neighborhood; only offices. What have they been building in the meantime? Three nightclubs. FML

Today, the people living below me have been blasting their music so loudly that I can hear every word as clear as day. The people next door think it's my music and feel the need to bang on the wall and blast their music just as loudly in revenge. I have two very important exams tomorrow. FML

Today, and every night all summer, I can hear the kids outside playing when I go to bed. They’re so loud, it makes it hard to sleep. The kids have a later bedtime than I do, and I’m 33. I'm feeling like a broken down old lady. FML

OP here. I'm normally on very good terms with my neighbors, and my only real beef about this is they didn't let me know this was happening in advance, I would've gladly taken a sick day or crashed at a friends or something. For those telling me to go over and abuse the bar, I don't drink, at all. I spoke to them about everything and everything was settled nicely, this had been a last minute thing for them because their godchild lost their venue. I only really thought to post this because the way our backyards are angled, it didn't matter what room of my place i went to, I could hear that band very clear.

I hate Mariachi music, and they had three bands in and out from 11am to about 10pm, so I really can't agree

At least it is just one day. When I worked nights my neighbors had dogs and toddlers who would make so much noise all day.

This made me chuckle. I think he should have at least told his neighbors though especially if it was going to be loud. You should also have earplugs on hand since you sleep during the day.
