Hey, I'm the OP! I'm 26, and my parents can be a little protective. I think they're worried that something will happen to me and they won't know who it was that did it. They're actually really amazing people. I chatted with them about it once they calmed down and everything is okay now, though they're still nervous about not knowing him. Thanks for the comments, everyone!

I met my husband online and moved to the states to be with him, he's the love of my life and this August will be our 5th year anniversary. All I'm saying is you never know where love will show up and thanks to the Internet two people on opposite sides of the world have the chance to fall in love. Also not saying that the internet isn't also a predators playground, you just have to be careful, that's all.
seems like you and your parents are getting along well
I feel like this story needs some more background. That seems like a completely ridiculous reaction from your parents. There must be some reason they acted like that.
Forget about your folks, Op! Pursue the relationship and your own happiness. You don't need anyone's approval!
maybe you should prove to them that he really does exist.
how old r u?
Wow, your parents are so overly dramatic. They need to seriously chill out and stop being so childish
thats gonna be an awkward first time meeting.
There's nothing wrong with meeting someone on the Internet you just have to be careful, I met my husband on MySpace when I was 18 and we have been together 8 years now!

They can't put anything on the internet that isn't true. I heard it on the internet. :D
