when you report the crime, they'll most likely void the ticket
#64. they can write it to the VIN number. File a police report and use the report as evidence.
Call the city and fight that!
to #31 very different situation. someone was breaking into your car, so chances were, they were still enough for you to get a picture, while in this scenario, when your first instinct might be to, i dunno, chase them off, there's not too much time to sit there and take a picture before they take off, so anything the OP could have gotten would likely have been blurry or useless (or even worse, taken from an average cell phone camera). to #57 chances are, the OP may or may not have seen the kids taking those exact items off of the car (i mean, honestly who would sit there and watch without doing anything), but they may have seen the kids running off with his/her stuff while giving chase, or found it to be missing after getting back. As for chasing the kids off before they stole anything, that's assuming that they decide to drop the stuff they already have. they were probably going to try for more stuff before they got caught, but just cut their losses and ran with what they had on hand before high-tailing it out of there to the OP: hope you have a sympathetic police station, and a good insurance policy. on the plus side, you'll probably be able to get your plates back eventually since those are hard for other people to write off as their own, as long as the cops have an eye out for them! :)
That's one of the most horrible things. Talk about Murphy's Law. Damn!
and how did they write this ticket?
lol this ones way too good Today, I walked out to my car to see four kids taking the hubcaps, radio, and license plates off of my truck. I chased them six blocks until I tripped and twisted my ankle. I limped back to my car and found a ticket on my windshield for $55 dollars. The reason? Missing license plates. FML first off, "walked to my car" later stated "my truck" also trucks have hubcaps? then again he says "my car" wtf thought it was a truck now...how did they write you a ticket with no license plate im still unsure of that, maybe inspection sticker? idk maybe its true but i thought it was funny
...since when do trucks not have hubcaps? Also, I frequently refer to vehicles in general as "cars," as do many people I know.

How did they write you out a ticket with no license plates? Just a description of the truck? :/
sorry to hear that. so unfortunate can you fight that ticket? that seems like a legit reason, just hard to show proof
