Today, I went to a restaurant for a friend's birthday. There were two very attractive waiters. They waited until I went to the toilet to sit down, talk to my friends and hit on them. They promptly left upon my return. Men avoid me. FML

It definitely wasn't their breaks! It was weird because they didn't even ask for my friends numbers or anything, just chatted with them. There was enough room at the table for them to have done that with me there, so it wasn't that. It was almost like I was too intimidating or something! I found it quite funny in a tragic kind of way and that's probably because of the terrible relationship I've just come out of. I really didn't expect so many nice comments, you guys are the best!

So it's only appropriate to hit on women if I'm attractive? Usually when I try it at work I get called "creep" and "eew". Still, maybe I'm just doing it wrong. Someone needs to give me the 411 on how to get mad "hitting on girls" skillz.

how? I read it as OP was disappointed because they didn't hit on her. Also they were attractive. Usually FMLs are about how inappropriate guys are when they hit on girls, but this one is about being sad for not being hit on. Still confused :/

Don't sweat it OP. You don't want a guy who hits on you solely for your looks. And it might of just been the timing of their break and nothing at all to do with you leaving. Wait for someone who deserves you!

Maybe they did it because they didn't want to hurt your feelings by hitting on your friends and blatantly not being interested in you - how bad would you feel to have them do it right in front of you, effectively saying you aren't good enough for them?

That has happened to me while my sister and I were out shopping. And out running errands. Guys walk up to her all the time just to hit on her, and they all ignore me. But it's cool though, because she hates it and turns them down. Plus most of those guys dress like no one loves them anyway.

There could be several different reasons as to why they did that, and you could just have bad timing. Don't worry about it, if they're waiters they probably flirt with hundreds of girls during the week and still don't get anything from it other than a tip.

Well It's their loss! Look at it this way; they may be decently attractive, but that doesn't mean that they're good for you.. Seems to me they were 100% searching for looks, instead of the whole package

Isn't the whole package personality AND looks? And let's be honest, OP was being superficial too. The only reason she even noticed those two waiters was because they were both very attractive, not because she talked to them and discovered their wonderful personalities.
