Today, I wore an expensive vintage blazer which I'd purchased at a market in Paris. Turns out my colleague has the exact same one, only hers is from a clearance rack at Target. FML

Bargain? In my country they over price the tourists like 10 times the amount of worth. You just gotta know how to play the game hehe ;D

Did you read 'exect same one'?

I highly doubt Target is selling the same brand as a market in Paris. I thought it looked exactly the same, rather than being the exact brand

I thought the OP was saying that the seller from the market bought a bunch of cheap blazers from Target, then went on to sell them as "vintage" for a higher price. I personally wouldn't trust stuff sold at most markets. They tend to be bought in bulk really cheap and sold for ridiculous prices.

Actually , most of brands in France are American , and they are sold to French people really expensive . There are only few French brands that we sell here , most is imported so I'm not surprised at all

Actually Target's Australian (I live in Australia) and almost all of it's stuff is made in China and are imitations.

Most of brands in France are Americans! well well well......

32 - Wow. So much BS in so little space. Target is an American company headquartered in Minneapolis, MN. There are currently NO international stores, but they are going into Canada soon.

On the subject of Target and Target Australia ," Its bulls-eye trademark is licensed to Wesfarmers, owners of the separate Target Australia chain which is unrelated to Target Corporation." If the two are Unrelated then 37 is right still.

On the subject of Target and Target Australia ," Its bulls-eye trademark is licensed to Wesfarmers, owners of the separate Target Australia chain which is unrelated to Target Corporation." If the two are Unrelated then 37 is right still.

That wouldn't make 37 less right though. If the OP is talking about Target Australia then they are still talking about a store unrelated to the U.S. target which is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota and has no International stores. That was all I was pointing out. It also means that this entire thread is moot because they are talking about Target Australia which is not available in France either. So the OPs jacket wasn't likely to have been picked up from there.

from 32-"Actually Target's Australian (I live in Australia) and almost all of it's stuff is made in China and are imitations." from 37 to 32 -" Wow. So much BS in so little space. Target is an American company headquartered in Minneapolis, MN. There are currently NO international stores, but they are going into Canada soon." 37 was right because Target Corporation is an American company not currently located outside the U.S. 32 - was wrong because Target Australia is in not affiliated with Target Corporation. It is not a company, simply a chain of stores owned by Wesfarmer. Also not located outside Australia. It all boils down to the OP really needs to be absolutely positive that her colleague doesn't just have an imitation of the blazer she bough because neither of those company's are located in France so whoever she bought her blazer from wasn't likely to have run there to pick it up.

Plus 32 was responding to "Actually , most of brands in France are American , and they are sold to French people really expensive . There are only few French brands that we sell here , most is imported so I'm not surprised at all" Implying that the products where not coming from America but from Australia.

I get what you were saying Alan but when you actually follow the conversation chain to the exact meanings of the words that were said in response to what other people said, 37 didn't say anything wrong.

I live in Australia, and Target is an Australian store. OP is Australian too, so Target must be in Australian. I'm certain it is only in Australia as well, so you must be talking about a different brand

Thanks for backing me up as well! Much appreciated!

I mean those who did (Alan) however just to clarify (chibichibi) the store OP is talking about is known as Target in Australia (so that's the one which is relevant to the story), and it comes down to the fact that it highly likely the Target blazer was an imitation. (sorry to go on and on, I just wanted to defend my pervious statements)

I have made it more than clear that i am awareif Target Australia but it is a store. Not a corporation. I was clarifying that the real Target Corporation is American. Australia just has a set of store by the same name owned by Wesfarmer.

Clueless - I apologize for my earlier comment. I was not aware that Target Australia also went by the name Target. My comment is only valid for Target Corp. Your comment makes sense and I will now go hang my head in shame.

If you knew better, you would have bought out of fashion things that are on sale... Clearly its a win for your co-worker.

Well at least you had the experience and memories of going to France :)

Looks like somebody gotcha pretty good. sucks you had to find out. Had your coworker not bought that, you'd still be thinking it was vintage and worth paying for. Ignorance is bliss.

And probably both were made in China. *cynical face*

Well... good to know that the clothing on the clearance rack can pass as good quality?

Did you know they took gullible out of the dictionary??
