There's a huge difference between boss and owner. If you own the business or are the general manager you can essentially do what you want, but you shouldn't be a two faced asshole all the same. If you're just the "boss" as in supervisor you still have the same rules as everyone else and can be reported to someone higher up. This one of the reasons I'll never work for someone else ever again, I don't like reporting to lazy hypocrites.

So many people here seem oblivious to the fact that many companies and businesses have a facebook page as a means of advertising their product or service

well it's common sense. If your boss is around look busy even if your not, that's how you keep your job. When you sit in his chair then you can have it your way

Dont be afraid to confront them and if they threaten you with your job go to there superior because that pretty damn unprofessional.
