You guys really should have made sure either of you left a tip. Especially since she was a sweet server. I work in the food industry and most of us live off our tips, so it's very important! Even if the server was not good, I at least leave them a small tip because I don't want to seem like a pretentious, cheap asshole.
Obviously, **** HER life. I hope one of you went back to fix it. Hell, odds are good that if you felt comfortable doing it, they could take your card over the phone to charge the tip.
um wouldn't this be more of a **** her life? the waitress?

I guess you could always go back to give her it
Definitely go back. Keep the receipt. Go back ASAP and explain what happened and give her the tip and thank her and apologize for the oversight. I have definitely done this before and the waitress was moved to tears thankful and appreciative. It would absolutely make her day.
