uh, she probably wants to know that you'll be able to find a decent job in a few years. unless you have some crazy creative talent up your sleeve (and as a graduated art major, it's still damn hard to find steady money) then you'll probably have to get a normal haircut and take out the face piercings to get hired for above minimum wage. she's really just looking out for you. also, just because you listen to a certain type of music doesn't mean that you have to dress like the band.

Okay, emo is actually a genre of music that formed out of punk in the 80's, it's a style now don't ask me how it just is now but the music from back then and the style now are total opposites. If you don't listen to rites of spring and deez nuts or bands like that don't bother calling your self emo. Especially if you only listen to metal or metalcore bands. Some people need to do their research before they fully try and make others sound stupid.
