Today, my father told me that because of my 4.0 with all AP classes, I could choose where to eat tonight. My stepmother told him I wanted to eat at IKEA, of all places, because that's what she wanted. Guess who he believed, and guess where I am right now. FML

Clarifying time: Yes, this happened. My father told me I could choose, so I said I'd think about it. I left the room, and came back a little while later. My dad said he liked my choice, and that IKEA sounded great. I told him I never made my decision, and my step mother said she had just loved the idea when she heard it from me. They then spent the entire car ride telling me I was "a detriment to this family" and I "don't deserve such amazing parents." They don't understand why I wanted my mother to have full custody.

If this is the usual dynamic between the three of you, you’ve got more pressing issues than IKEA for dinner. For your sake, I hope you’re only around those two on the weekends or something, or you are almost out of the house. Sounds like a toxic environment. Good luck getting away from it.
