Today, my mom and I somehow got into a serious argument over the ethics of capturing and training Pokémon. FML

She must be a supporter of Pokemon's PETA group, team Plasma.

Mom:"Pikachu is an innocent creature! You shouldn't battle or capture it." OP:"But Moooommm, it started it!" -makes a whiny face and points at game- Don't worry, my friends and I have discussed this before. Your social life and choice of discussions shall improve once the Pokemon debate is resolved. :)

... WTF?!? ... You and your friends need to get lives dude.

Because your time is being spent in such a valuable way...

Pokémon are slaves. If you are going to talk about a very serious thing, please use more properer grammar.

Maybe it was an intended joke on 84's part.

I had a similar argument with my dad a few days ago. "You're brushing your Vulpix's fur the wrong way!" "For the last time, dad, it's a Pikachu!" "Pikachu's don't need grooming!" "The hell it doesn't!"

This actually made me laugh +1 for you

Ooh too funny : ) this totally cracked me up too. And I agree with pretty much everyone, the original pokemon series was the best as were all the games I've played on all my gameboys : ) now they are losing their creative edge, honestly a pokemon based on a lamp? WTF? Lol

I was always a fan of using hypnosis, sleep, or paralysis to catch them. Once that's done, run em into the ground... They don't have an attitude meter or personality development.

I've had that conversation. It got started when she caught you trying to shove your cat into a wiffleball, right?

These are the times I'm glad I missed the whole Pokemon phenomenon. The cartoons I grew up on were quite educational. For example, I learned not to trust anything from the Acme Corporation. Thanks for the valuable life lesson, Wile E. Coyote!

These are the times I definitely envy those who are older than I. I got stuck dealing with that stuff when it first started. Never, ever interfere with an eighth grader's quest to acquire every Oddish card in northwest CT... She will kick you in the balls repeatedly.

Yu-Gi-Oh..... That craze spawned annoying little imps around my area. It was funny seeing the Pokemon kids and Yu-Gi kids fight over stupid reasons. Just be glad you missed that too, Doc!

I loved the educational/hilarious antics of the Animaniacs. Particularly, Yakko, Wakko and Dot. I feel old now.

Be happy if you missed the "Ed, Edd 'n Eddy" and "Courage the Cowardly Dog."days too! :P

Ed, Edd, and Eddy? Never even heard of them. I've heard of Yu-Gi-Oh but I would not recognise it if it walked up to me and slapped me in the face. For me it was Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry, Woody Woodpecker, and Droopy. And for my kids, it's Team Umi Zoomi, Dora, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. What a crazy world.

Aw, Doc, I feel bad for you. You just don't know what you're missing. *Hops on Pidgeot and flies away*

That is what happens when you talk about Pokemon
