Today, our cat died. My five-year-old tried to flush him down the toilet. FML

Op here(: My son Jamie is a boy, our cat was too. I got him 8 years ago as a 1st anniversary gift from my husband. Aladdin(Cat's name) was already dead when our son tried to flush him, and Yes we've had many fish before. I hope that answers everyone's questions.

His health had been declining and when my husband found him he was curled up in a ball dead(Thank god he died peacefully). When i walked in on my son trying to flush him i took Aladdin(Cat's name) from him and dried him off then put him back into the shoe box. I then had a long talk with him about how you only flush fish down the toilet. And thanks for the sympathy. He was our first baby(:

For the ones who doubt that the cat was already dead: I think it's quite difficult for a 5 year old to drown an adult cat without getting mauled.

So the cat died because your son tried to flush it down the toilet? Or your son tried to flush it down the toilet after it died?

Not sure if the cat died because of what your five year old did, or it's already dead when he tried to flush it down. Hopefully it's the latter. Either way, fyl.
