Today, while driving, I got a call on my cell phone. Trying to be safe and avoid an accident, I pulled into the nearest parking lot before answering. While I was turning in to park, someone rear-ended me. FML

You did the right thing. There are far too many people who talk on the phone while driving, and numerous studies show that distracted driving is just as dangerous as drunk driving. Congratulations for not being a moron. You and your kind are a dying breed.

At least it's not your fault when you get rear ended.

they pulled off the road before answering... moron. learn how to read

I don't see how bluetooth is any different from any other phone call. Its not that its hard to hold a phone to your ear while driving.. its that phone calls are distracting, whether or not its bluetooth.

Bluetooth doesn't always work very well and if your in an involved conversation while driving it can get distracting. OP was being safe.

The only thing Bluetooth is good for is being amused by people talking to soup at the supermarket.

At least it's not your fault when you get rear ended.

that sounds more like a "that's what he said" to me, bro

sadly though because it's not always the rear-Enders fault, for example of op were to hit the breaks(not saying it went down like that) then the person in back might not be able to respond in time.

It is still the other persons fault because they didn't leave enough room to stop if they suddenly hit the brakes.

not saying this happened to OP, but sometimes drivers in russia would purposely back into a car to extort money or a lehal case. Thats why its handy to have a dash cam. But OP, i hope your insurance covered uour damages.

There would be no accident if you didn't feel as though everything had to be put on hold so you could answer your phone, which has nothing to do with the accident technically not being your fault. Although you probably slammed on your brakes so you can answer before it stopped ringing.

I agree with KaySL, learn to read. There are several situations when taking a certain call has high priority.

Actually, OP was doing the right thing by pulling over to avoid driving distracted. You're an idiot.

I love how everybody assumed that OP slammed the brakes

Such as when it's necessary to get rear ended? Isn't it amazing that no one had calls of this priority before cell phones were invented?

Ahhh, another one of those 'surprise buttsecks' moments.

do you remember the other day when you asked me what the meaning of the word irony was and I said- oh shit a car just rear ended me!

Well, it looks like we've found someone who puts up with being taken from behind. Kudos to you, my friend.

And apparently slated for execution by the idiots driving behind them.

What, because I said OP is NOT a moron? C'mon, I have a heart! Seriously, I do! It's right...well shit, I left it around here somewhere...

Haha, that reminds me of this morning when my dog showed up chewing on some random piece of meat... oh crap.
