This is why the 'youth of today' (of which I am one) are apparently so 'rude and ill-mannered'. Little kid idolises Granny/Grampa who is rude, so they think this behavior is ok. Seriously. You say THANK YOU.

I was at the corner store on campus the other day, getting tea and a snack, when I realized I didn't have my wallet on me. The cashier told me to take the tea anyway. I was intensely grateful. She said it was no big deal and wished me happy holidays. It absolutely made my day. I wonder at other people who can't accept kindness. Maybe the old biddy is just a terrible scrooge? Please don't let this stop you from being kind in the future- you may just make someone's day, like the cashier made mine.

wow elderly people r getting more rude. an elderly man rear-ended a car me and my friend were in and started yelling at us when we called the cops

my mema does that. but she has alztimers (sorry I can't spell). I go shopping with her all the time. You can't take it personal--- my mema doesn't even know who I am sometimes. And I am appalled by some of the comments on here. WTF? slap her? spill the milk on her? She is an elderly woman that should, if not respected, then at least treated with some type of kindness.
