Today, I thought I was suddenly having insulin problems due to my medical conditions. Turns out, every 4 weeks, your ovaries can just decide to make your blood sugar drop, even if you're transitioning. FML

IHaveThePower tells us more.

So since this was mine, quick question: I'm hormonally intersex. So was I born male or female? (Let us all mock the misogynist for not knowing about intersex people, sexual variation in nature, or biology)

a lot of times our bodies simply suck lol. good luck with your transition, and your journey towards being the awesome person that you are meant to be.

yes, it can. for some trans males it can stop them immediately, for others it takes a few months. however the only way to completely eliminate periods would be for a trans male to get a hysterectomy and have his uterus removed. great question to ask, as it made me do a Google search.

I guess if the uterus gets transformed into a penis, it's the same as removing it?

Transphobia/TERFery will NOT be tolerated on FML.

I feel like I have to say this again, separately: Transphobia/TERFery will NOT be tolerated on FML. Just **** off back to mumsnet.

Q: What's the difference between a vitamin and a hormone? A: You can't make a vita min....

I hate to say this but I have absolutely no idea what hormonal my intersex means. I’ve never heard the term until today. Could someone please politely explain. I googled it but it’s not quite clear to me unfortunately. I’m genuinely and sincerely interested. Not trolling or being sarcastic I would like to be educated. Please and thank you.

I believe it means their body produces hormones like testosterone and estrogen in levels that are not typical for the “average” male or female. To be clear, most people produce both hormones, but female people tend to have less testosterone than male people and vice versa.
