Box this!

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2013 but it's good stuff - Canada - Guelph

Today, a woman started giving me grief because we didn't have any Boxing Day sales. As I explained to her that dollar stores don't usually have sales, she tried to lamp me. It ended by her getting dragged out of the store. FML

The dollar store is expensive... GIVE THE WOMAN A SALE!

Wow, it's already a $1...does she want you to pay her to take it?

She needs half off on something that's already a dollar.

First time I've ever heard the word "lamp" being used as a verb.

I work in retail to OP and I've seen firsthand lengths customers go to to get what they want. Had a customer one time come in and throw a tantrum because he was charged a $3 activation fee on a prepaid master card. He said we were trying to steal his money and that he was never going to shop there again if there's always going to be "surprise" fees.

People who have never worked in customer service rarely read the fine print on anything. If they fail to notice the $3.95 activation fee wirtten right next to the amount the card is for then it is their own damn fault.

Looks like she was a little confused about the meaning of Boxing Day

This should be the lady's FML. Not yours. She didn't get her stuff for half off.

Why was my comment moderated? It was a ******* joke!

What does it mean to be lamped?

I live in the USA. I just finished my holiday job at Macy's. Some people just don't get it. I worked in the "Petites" section, yesterday. The woman who worked their with me practically got screamed at by an Asian woman (no offense to Asians or anything) because she was trying to explain that you need a Macy's store card or a Macy's American Express card to use a "Star Rewards" coupon. I felt bad for the Asian woman because she just didn't understand (not because she's Asian but because she came from another country and barely speaks English) what the sales associate was telling her.
