Brain fart

By good job brain - This FML is from back in 2015 but it's good stuff - United States - San Francisco

Today, I had a job interview. I was asked what my dream job would be. I blurted out, "The president, because I think it's a very cool and important job." I don't think I'm getting this one. FML

Next year's my first vote. What's your name OP? Might give you a write-in vote!

What's the point in asking someone what is his "dream job" if you don't expect him to tell you what he always dreamt to do, whatever it may be?

Like yesterday actually.. I poured orange juice in my mac and cheese...

I've gone into the freezer looking for a roll of toilet paper before. We've all been there a time or two.

haha :) if the company didn't get that it was a joke than you wouldn't have wanted to work with those stuck-ups anyway! think positive, some company will love to have a funny one that has a good cv!

theres nothing wrong with wanting to be president

Having interviewed people and having been interviewed, I can say that unless the question is very specific to the job skills, there is no way a single question on an unrelated topic like this would cost you a job. One of the things a good interviewer does is to try to put the person being interviewed at ease. Most people being interviewed start off nervous to some degree. That’s part of why many interviewers tend to start off with easy or friendly questions. However, the truth is that usually there are more people interviewing than will be hired so the odds for any given job application aren’t great unless you and the job are a very good match. One bit of advice I was given is to be sure to call back the interviewer or hiring manager the next business day and ask if they have and other questions they had wanted to ask that might make their decision process better. It shows you are interested in the job and it also give you a second chance to address any questions the interviewer might have had. But don’t lead off by trying to “correct” any answers or comments from the interview unless asked - It makes you look indecisive if you do that. But there is a thin line between being decisive enough for the job and not listening to important information before jumping to conclusions…
