Brain melt

By ray - This FML is from back in 2012 but it's good stuff - Canada

Today, I dropped my bag to run after my two-year-old who had bolted in the parking lot. Once he was in his seat, I got in and drove away. I felt two large thumps as I drove over my own iPad, cellphone and wallet. FML

Fyl. You did what was best for the kid but at the same time smashed $1000. Let's just be happy it wasn't your baby that got ran over.

I'm also a teenager, and lives are always more important than technology.

That's why they make those kid leashes. You should consider getting one it would probably help loads.

Toddlers are very fast even you're holding on to them. They will let go and bolt if they have their mind set. But my guess would be she wasn't fully paying attention to her child to begin with.

My brother ran into the street and almost got hit. But the driver spilt his coffee all over and got mad.

I swear to god when I read this the first time I thought it said "to run OVER my two-year-old" and started laughing. I am a horrible person...

I still don't understand why people would do that to their children. It's not morally correct. Leashes should only be put on animals, not your children!!!!!

They're reins, not leashes. They're used to help parents keep control over their kids and stop accidents from happening. If you're being pedantic, animals should live outside, hunt for their food and not be kept as pets on leashes...

68, Hate to break it to you, but we are all animals.

Would you rather have the kid on a leash or a pancake in the road because he yanked away from you? The leash is a great way for extra safety.

Serves you right. Buying a p.o.s. of an ipad.

That sucks. is this your only kid? You better be prepared to not have nice stuff for a while

Am I the only one wondering why the OP didn't pick their stuff up from the floor before driving off...?

Okay, I get that getting your kid was important, but why did you place it where you could run over it? Unless you were parallel parked, you should have just set it NEXT to the car, not under the car. Considering the time it would take to do that, I'd think you could open the door and toss it in.
