Buddy Rich is not dead

By DrumrollPlease - This FML is from back in 2016 but it's good stuff - United Kingdom - London

Today, my father informed me that he plans to play a drum solo instead of making a speech at my wedding. And yes, he IS completely serious. FML

Is it really that bad of a thing if he can play the drums really well?

Doesn't matter how well he plays drums, a wedding is not the place for it.

I suppose it COULD be the place for it, but only if the couple is on board. Op obviously isn't.

there is never a wrong place for if the couple gives the OK

I guess the idea of that doesn't really bang your drum then?

What if he gave a speech and played the drums?

At the same time? YEAH I'M SO *bam* HAPPY FOR MY *crash* LITTLE GIRL AND HER PRINCE *roffle* CHARMING AND I WISH HER ALL THE *badumtss* BEST IN LIFE!

Why does that upset you? I'd love my dad to do something so unique.

Yet OP clearly wouldn't, and it's her wedding, after all.

#35 I don't get why you think OP is ungrateful, it's their wedding so it's their choice. Maybe OP is having a very classy wedding and a drumb solo isn't really appropriate for a classy wedding

actions speqk louder than words my friend...

Wedding speeches are generic and boring anyway ; a drum solo sounds awesome !

maybe he doesnt want to make a speech? i know i never would.

How many people can say that their father played solo drums at their wedding!! It's all about perspective OP!

Honestly though you should just go with it it sounds like it would be great!
