I'd give them all bills for the past few years.
Its also time for you to get protected, just not by a password

Ask each person for $20... You'll have a slightly slower connection but you'll MAKE money on your wifi bill!
I really wonder how people knew it was your Wi-Fi. Did you go out of your way to make it to something identifiable but still deliberately not put a password? If so, that's a huge "Please get me in trouble!" sign!
They probably pulled up the thing and set the name to like "Op's wifi" or something and then when prompted to set a password clicked no because at the time, they weren't really aware of it being a problem. Then two years later they realised that wow their internet is slow maybe something is going on and someone id using it. So they thought about ot (or called the conpany to ask) and refound the settings and put one on
Really, YDI, since you should have password protected the WiFi password when you actually got it.
Penny: Hey, Sheldon, did you change your Wi-Fi password again? Sheldon: Yes, it's "Penny, get your own Wi-Fi." No spaces.
YDI. You're lucky no one else locked you out of it, just leaving it open like that. (Yes, people, that's possible. My dad did it to our neighbours as a joke before.) Then you'd have had to do a lot of work to get it back under your control again.
Sod them. It's your Wifi and yu protect it how you see fit

Fun fact: that's technically illegal. To look more like an asshole, call the cops on everyone!
Unlocked means password free. Did you not think people weren't going to treat you like a Starbucks?
