Business is business

Today, my lawyer lied to me about how much of a settlement she won for my workplace accident. I got £20,000, but she lied and kept £55,000 for herself. My lawyer is my wife, and she claims she’s entitled to that money since she’s the one who’s really suffered caring for me during my recovery. FML

I would leave her and press charges, to be honest. What a POS.

If she really thought she was owed that, than she would have felt comfortable in legally and directly discussing appropriate compensation.

I'd love to know how you found out about her lie and also an update of what you did about it

Obviously the first thing you do is apply for divorce and sue her. Wife or not she's not entitled to deciding how much she gets paid as your legal representation like that. Secondly someone who claims they needed more money for taking care of their spouse after an accident is not someone you want. Her license will be revoked and you'll have an easy open shut divorce and she'll be out even more than that 55k she kept.

Leave her and take her to court. End her career.

You married a lawyer, you had her act on your behalf, with no contract.... You were truly asking for it.
