Deep cut

By It's a horrible song lmao - 07/11/2024 20:00 - United States

Today, I lost my phone while at the store with my mom. She decided to call it, and that's when I remembered that my ringtone for her is the song "Mother" by The Police. The weirded-out stares I got as I picked up my phone have become a core memory that I absolutely did not want. FML

Today, I was in a meeting when my phone suddenly rang. I'd forgotten to silence it, but it wasn’t just any ringtone, it was "I'm Blue" by Eiffel 65. It played for 30 seconds while everyone stared at me rushing to retrieve it from my bag on the other side of the room and turn it off. The worst part? That fucking song is still stuck in my head, and it's been hours. FML

There are many songs with that title, including Pink Floyd, The Police and Danzig. The song by the Police, from the Syncrhonicity album, specifically has lyrics about the telephone ringing and whether it's his mother calling. Hence the applicability to the FML.

If I hadn't been told it was The Police, I wouldn't have guessed it was them.

absolutely not who sings that song

No, there's a Police song by the same title, from Synchronicity. It has lyrics like "Well the telephone is ringing Is that my mother on the phone?"

I had to search for that song on YouTube. I never heard that song, it's very strange for the police, and would be weird to hear it as a ringtone in a grocery store I guess
