Today, my financial issues hit a new low when I had to borrow back some of the money I gave the guy who did my hair. FML

Why would you even consider doing your hair when you have that kind of problems with your economy?

How exactly did you get your barber to loan you money?

Okay.. I've been putting it off for years & years becuz I never had the time or money to do it. I thought my husband had saved money from his last paycheck to last us until my next one. Turns out he didn't. I'm a mom & a wife, and all my money goes towards my daughter & my husband. I wanted to at least do one thing for myself while I had the money to do it. And honestly, that's the only thing I've wanted for myself in a long long time, so it's not like I always blow my money on things for myself, which is what the majority of you are assuming. Plus, I made sure my daughter had everything she needed before I spent my money. My husband decided to use his for GTA V. If that changes y'all's opinions, cool. If not, oh well.

Everyone saying hair cuts are a luxury and you don't need them has obviously never had long hair. My hair is almost mid-back and if I go longer than 4 months without a trim it's completely unmanagable. It's not healthy to be yanking out half your hair every morning trying to brush the tangles out of your split ends. To OP: Groupon is really great to find cheap hair dressers on. I almost never pay full price for my hair cuts anymore. You can get a wash, cut, blowdry, and style for $20-30. If you dye your hair, some of them offer deals for that too.

To be fair, saying you got your hair DONE implies something different than having your hair CUT.

And no, I did not borrow back the money so that I could pay for it. The ****?

I appreciate that, but... I'm a she.

It's okay OP, I've been there too. Looking good is important. Luckily your stylist let you borrow some back, I've never been that lucky

um maybe you shouldnt get yo hairs diiid if you're broke?! wtf.

So you wanted to get your hair done, regardless of your financial situation. Good for you for making sure your daughter's needs were met, but my only advice now is that BOTH you and your husband need to get a budget. Check with your bank, they may offer free financial and budgeting help. Good luck!

So you withheld the tip I would guess...unless he actually allowed you to take a loan out of him

Why are you spending money on luxuries then? Cut your own hair.
