It's creepy enough that you happened to notice how cute he was and decided to smile as the one to make the move, but staring at him and waiting for him to sit is even creepier. You just probably showed him how desperate you are. Take my advice and don't smile at another guy until he approaches you first.

I have observed for years that guys consider the same act either repulsive or attractive contingent upon the female. If a girl he considered attractive was sitting next to an empty seat on a bus and smiled at him, I bet his ass would hit the seat in two seconds flat. If a girl smiles and he doesn't think she's attractive, it's creepy and he'd rather stand than sit next to an ugly girl for awhile. Geez, someone might see them sitting next to each other and think the unthinkable, that he's dating the dog. He can't have that.

I do that all the time so as to avoid awkwardness when sitting next to a stranger Nothing against you probly just avoiding wierding you out ^_^

I get nervous when I see girl on the bus, and we both know I'm gonna sit next to each other. So your beauty might have scared him off, or your just to uggly... Who knows...

Don't worry, you aren't ugly... he just finds standing next to homeless men more attracting.
