Exactly. Addiction may be a disease but the more the people around him enable or have him avoid consequences, the longer his disease will go untreated and worse off he’ll be for it in the end. It may not be easy, but you need to do it for your own welfare and his as well - he WILL do it again if he knows he can get away with it, no matter how much he says otherwise.
Report to police, cut all ties and take out court order disowning him just in case if something happens you won't be contacted for financial needs over him.
All that stuff other people said…that and sue his ass.
