Wrongful dismissal. Fight the power. On the bright side, you have a longer vacation.
You need to sue the hell out of that bitch.
I had the same thing happen to me, when I took the time off, I went through the appropriate channels. I get a phone call a week into my vacation, from my supervisor talking about if I don't come in I'd be fired. I called by to speak to her and explained things to her and she still fired me. Me being who I was at the time just said ok and went back to enjoying my vacation and my time with my family. When I came back I figured I didn't have a job so I went and looked for another. A couple days later I got a call asking why I wasn't at work. I told her so and so fired me, from what I heard she got cussed out and I got my job back. The issue was lack of communication, not on my part because I told the old broad several times I was going on vacation and for how long. Even though she loathed to do it she had to apologize and give me a pay increase. She definitely wasn't happy about that

Wrongful termination lawsuit...
Whether you have a case depends on what state you work in, and the respective employment laws of that state. (If you're not in the States, disregard this comment.) Regardless of the actual laws, you can take a gamble on whether your boss is aware of the laws. Threaten a lawsuit. The workplace environment doesn't sound ideal and you may not want to return, but maybe you can finagle a severance payment out of it.
