ruined is a bit harsh but I would be annoyed too. part of the fun of giving a gift is seeing them open it. I would just make it clear that that's her gift and she isn't getting anything else so don't be disappointed. then let her know that next time you would prefer to give it to her
Ouch that's awful personally if that happened to me I'd be very disappointed or even pissed at her. For one you don't open somebody else's mail, regardless if it's your spouse, it's the principle of the matter. Hopefully she got you something equally as good for your 10-year anniversary!! But if she didn't ,time for a reevaluation of the relationship.
