I can't believe there are so many idiots thinking it was on purpose. Obviously, it was an accident, which is why it ended up beinf an FMLy situation but funny enough in the guy's mind to be posted here. From the OP's name, and from the fact that ties are not normally flammable enough to catch on fire easily without some combustible added to it, I deduct that the OP probably works at the fast-food chain as a manager and the tie problem involved a kitchen accident with oil lighting on fire and getting on the tie as the employee jerked back in fear. (People tend to, when oil does that.)
