OP here! Apparently the name I used to post my fml is too long. Just wanted to say some things. 1. She was not and is not a bad parent in any way; I've made it to my teenage years without any major incidents. Never smoked in front of me or in the house, don't think my dad would have let her. This fml wasn't meant to be whiny, omg it's evil, just funny. She has several psychological disorders and gets stressed easily, so it definitely helps her out. My mother is one of the smartest, kindest, funniest people I'll ever know. 2. We do have copious amount of chip bags in the house. In fact, her favorite thing to do is actually lick the flavoring off of each individual chip and make a mountain of the leftovers. It's disgusting, especially when you have to explain to your friend why that chip they just nabbed was slightly soggy. 3. I do not smoke. Don't care for it. I realized her habit a long time ago, even have memories of her telling me she'd be "taken away" if I told anyone, which I guess kind of locked the thought away for a long time. Seriously guys I was at a concert and I was like "Mom?" and yeah people were just smoking weed. Awks. Plus she told me a story about airport security finding seeds in her purse but they laughed and yeah. 4. She smokes cigarettes as well, so both the smell of marijuana and Marlboro's are associated with her in my mind and smell nice. Unfortunately, she did smoke cigarettes around my half-siblings and I when we were all young. Not in the house, but everywhere else. I have a problem with the cigs 'cause y'know, she has lung problems and her parents smoked for their entire lives and had problems with their respiratory systems. She's in her late fifties. Her and her friends like to smoke together. It's hilarious because they call themselves Green Gardening Ladies. One time when she was high she came into my room and started talking to me in vivid detail about her experience with baboons when she was growing up in Africa. I was like eight and it was the coolest story ever. :)

What's the fml part about?

This is not an FML unless your uneducated on marijuana.

This happened to me too, only with my dad. Quite sad but funny
