Employment laws, report it! Send in tip off to appropriate departments, and record and report everything make sure the reports go to manager, to the authorities and keep a copy for yourself. Paper trail everything, do not discuss any of it on phone. Every conversation follow up with email so it's on the record. And back up the emails as proof.
my work has us record every job we work on, breaks and meetings. I would ask what how the records are used before doing anything major. for us, it is purely to know what we charge the customer vs write off for training, but we are not penalized. could be for something similar, and "down time" is simply not charged to the customer. But yeah, first time they talk about penalizing you I would be reporting it.
