Never make arrangements for a delivery without first agreeing on a price and how it will be paid. While I sympathize with a poor, single mom there is no reason you have to support her with free furniture.
Does Offerup have a "Report buyer" function? Because if she couldn't afford the dresser then she shouldn't have contacted you in the first place. We all have our own shit to deal with, you are not responsible for furnishing her house.
Should have left with the dresser. If it had been food (or even secondhand clothes) I might have still left it out of sympathy but no one NEEDS a dresser.
Sounds like you were scammed. intimidation and it's various forms is often used by scam artists to intimidate people into something free or at a much lower price.
