That sucks
Thank you for you're amazingly detailed analysis of the situation. If only we were all so observant.
at least you didn't kill it.....right
Honestly I first felt sympathy for you for having to deal with the guilt of hurting such an adorable puppy. But then I saw your name. You think it's funny that you fell on an animal 10x smaller than you?
25, are you joking or not?
25 is talking about OP's username
Hope your friend won't hold a grudge! It was obviously an accident and I'm sure you feel enough guilty as it is. :)
the dog or the boyfriend?
Me Too
Wtf? It's a broken leg, not a terminal disease.
Yea, but not everyone is willing to spend money to treat their pets
That's the sad thing #36, surprisingly there are people who would put their pet down just because they don't want to pay for medical treatment.
It's not that people don't want to pay for it, it's that they don't have the money for the medical bills. Vet prices completely screw people over. There are many things that could be fixed with surgery but people don't have the $5,000-10,000 to pay for it. It's really sad, and I don't think you should be blaming the people that not only can't afford it, but then have to put their best friend down because of it.
if you don't have the money for a pet simply then don't have a pet
We used to dog-sit a puppy who was born with a broken leg, the breeder refused to pay medical fees so he gave it to my moms friend for free. It was too late by that time and she had to get her leg amputated, but she was one of the happiest dogs ever.
#48: Trust me, we don't like charging that much. It's because of the ongoing arms race between the pharmaceuticals industry and the insurance industry in human medicine. Insurance companies try to pay as little as possible, so in human medicine the doctors and pharmacies are billing the insurance companies several times what they would actually charge a patient just to get the fraction the insurance company will cover. It more or less works out for patients because they still only pay their $30 copay. But when the suppliers see doctors billing insurance companies ridiculous amounts, they think that means hospitals can afford to pay double for drugs and supplies. So supply prices go up (which makes insurance companies want to pay less, which makes doctors have to charge more again, &c). Meanwhile, here in vet med we get screwed over because we still have to pay that much for supplies, but our patients don't typically have insurance to cover the difference. You think vet bills are expensive, try getting sick without insurance. I've been there and it sucks. They tried to charge me $4k for bloodwork that we could run for like $150-250 for one of our feline patients.
Ouch. Accidents happen. I hope the puppy is ok.
That pup must have a seriously strong tongue to knock a person off balance simply by licking them. Was its name Clifford by any chance?
It's from the licking being ticklish I'm assuming
Is this lennie from of mice of men?
I don't think any necks have been snapped yet.
As someone with balance issues for a lot of reasons I'll vouch that trying to stand up from a squat when losing your balance tends to make the situation worse. OP probably would have ended up landing on the pup's back if they'd tried to do that. And then the pup would have been dead or paralyzed almost for certain. A broken leg is way better than landing on the poor pup's back.
Actually, this FML doesn't specify wether it was her boyfriend that broke his leg, or the puppy.
hello Mr.horrible person
It’s seems pretty clear that it was the puppy.
