Sticky situation

Today, on my lunch break, I ran to the gas station, and threw some trash away on my way in. On my way out, I realized my keys were missing. Thinking I threw them away, and fearing that I'd be late returning to work, I tore through the disgusting trash only to find my keys on the seat of my car. FML

I'm going to hazard a guess and say "run to the gas station" is only an expression.

Should have checked the obvious places first... but apparently covert is overt for you.

When I first got my driving license, I realised that night after putting the shopping away that I'd lost it before it got to my wallet.. It wasn't in bf's car, it wasn't around the house, PANIC, searched through the bin in case in went out with the bags (shared house - disgusting)... I ended up having to order a new one. I found it a month ago, in the freezer, apparently I put it away with the shopping. Go figure. I wish I'd never had to search the bin. Fyl op.

Maybe your boss will smell you and guess you were rooting through the trash for food, and give you a raise out of pity. It's easier than asking him directly.

Lucky your car was still there these days!

this is why I keep a lanyard on my keys and put them in my back pocket or my bag when I get out of the car. it helps.

Happens to me all the time...but that's because I always throw my keys in the garbage can...

I have done the same thing with my a ring I wear...at least you didn't lose your keys...that's a plus right?

I've definitely thrown my keys out before, so I feel your pain.. It's like locking your keys in the car, almost everybody accidentally does it at some point. Though, I would have definitely checked every possible other place first for sure.
