Hope you kept you're receipt! I'd return the one you just bought and buy the new one - or if you opened the one you already purchased, buy the one with the coupon and then return it with the receipt for the first one! That does suck though! That's my kinda luck right there!

Return the old one, get the money back, then use the coupon to get it for free....ta-da!

Call the company and tell them what happened, and they should apply the coupon for you, since you just missed the sale by a day. :)

In some countries like mine (New Zealand) we have a consumer law called the Fair Trading Act. Basically in this situation, the retailer didn't advise you on a special occurring within three days. Therefore you'd have the right to get the difference back, or credited vouchers. It's not about being a c*** to the businesses, it's more just about consumers being informed fully when making purchases. But yeah in your situation I would return the device stating that compared to other appliances it's not user friendly to maintain. Blame the design. (Some countries/shops) have a "change of mind" no return policy. But a fault with the appliance is applicable. Then... Go to a different store and buy it (or online purchase)
