Today, my family returned from a holiday in Egypt. A holiday that I really wanted to spend with them. As if leaving me behind wasn't bad enough, they then made me watch a 200-picture slideshow of how much fun they had. FML

Today, I found out that my family has paid for and booked a trip to Dubai without me. They weren't going to tell me until they were about to board but since I was crying that my friend ditched me for my holiday, they thought they would let me know. FML

Today, my parents tricked me by claiming we were going on holiday, but stopped at grandma"s first, "just to say hi", then left me there with my bags. They dumped me with grandma and went on holiday without me. FML

Today, my mother was talking about a holiday she went on this time last year. She turned to me to say, "You would've loved it, it's a shame you couldn't come". I was there. It was just the two of us on holiday together. FML

Today, and after a lot of effort to reconnect with my family after a while of limited contact, I found out from the family group text that my mom, sister, and grandmother went on a vacation without me, and I didn’t even know about it until they posted some airport selfies. FML

Today, all I wanted was to take my two kids and their two favourite cousins to the beach on their last day of vacation together. My mother-in-law went into full beast mode, shouting about how I'm always roaming around and being irresponsible. The kids never meet and are from different cities. FML

Today, I returned home from college and saw a framed picture of my parents and my younger sister on an elephant in an exotic jungle. I pointed to the picture and asked my mom, "Is this some photoshop job?" She responded, "No, we went to Thailand for a family trip, didn't we tell you?" FML

Today, I took my parents and 3 sisters to the airport so they could take a trip to Hawaii. I wasn't invited because they don't like my husband. They asked me to watch the dog and water the plants. FML

Lol people are taking a perfectly acceptable fml and turning it around on the OP saying he's whining. I'm pretty sure if the rest of my family went on a vacation to Egypt and then showed me the pictures, when I could have gone, I'd be pissed too. If it was for work, they shoulda told him about it so he could book it off. I doubt going to Egypt for a vacation is a spur of the moment thing for most families. And if it was for school, they could've waited for a break in the action before going on vacation. My family did that for me when we went to Quebec ... we picked a week where I had no midterms or assignments and I dealt with it. So no, the OP is not being a whiny, selfish bitch. The family could have worked him in easily.

Were you planning to pay your own way? or were you upset because you wanted them to pay your way on their vacation even though you are 18 or older because that makes a huge difference in this one.
