Sue the parents and the shop for damages.
OMG how??? Does no one know how to parent anymore? To steal a car, an 8-year-old had to get the keys, put them in the ignition, turn on the ignition, put the car into drive, and use the pedals to go. All that, and no one knew? Lawsuit, now.
The shop should have insurance to protect from things like this. Ask them to file a claim.
