This ain't gonna end well

By PureFallPain - 23/11/2019 20:00

Today, I'm catfishing a guy on Twitter. I didn't mean to start it, I had an account I used to vent with, and I used a pic with a cute girl. He sent me a DM saying he liked my pic. He wanted to talk on the phone, and we have fallen for each other. He thinks I'm 18. I'm a 39 year-old single mother of 3 kids. FML

OP, you need to come clean. It isn't fair to string him along like this. You may love the attention and flattery but you and him are just going to get hurt. If you try a dating app and use your actual photo you may be pleasantly surprised. But break it off with him, it isn't fair on either of you to give your hearts to something not real. not to mention he may be blowing off opportunities and his future for a fantasy which is never going to happen. please take care OP, but break it off, he deserves the truth and he deserves better than to be catfished.

Even of you "didn't mean to start it", you continued and kept it going. Shame on you! And yes, you definitely need to come clean and apologize!

Never know may work out in your favor.

Then you're old enough to know better. YDI for letting it carry on.

I’ve used a cg character from a game as a profile pic before to match the nickname. It was hard to tell it wasn’t a real pic. When people complimented me on it, I told them who it was. Problem solved before started. Though I’ll never get why people try to pick you up off of twitter based on a pic.

Differing from everyone else here, I say it'll break his heart and give him trust issues forever if you admit to catfishing him. Go for a different approach - tell him you're getting back with an old boyfriend or something and you have to end it with him, and sorry you can't meet but that he is a wonderful person and will find someone else etc. Then cut it off for good. Remember, you haven't fallen for him - it's the buzz of flattery & attention you like.

Only an asshole would do something like this. I hope he catches your lying ass and karma gets you where it hurts. Whatever you get for leading this person on, you deserve.

......as a 39 year old woman, why are you portraying an 18 year old? That’s completely ******, you’ve deceived this man every way imaginable. Shame on you.
