Today, I found out my wife's sister is an antivaxxer, and my wife is headed that way too. Our first baby is due next February. FML

Tell her if garlic water and oils worked, we'd still be using it. But it doesn't, and there's a reason behind why Polio is gone now! So many people think "Well, I'm healthy and nothing's ever happened to me!". You do realize anyone around 50 or younger has most of the vaccines in them already. Life expectancy in the 1930s was about 55 years old, and most of the deaths were infants because of illnesses. I can understand maybe spacing out the vaccines on different pediatrician trips rather than, let's say, getting the 4 required at the 2 month well-visit. But to not to, she's the cause of the problem and will be the return of even more shit happening in the world. And to the (new) age old take of the autism fallacy: Autism is genetic, already wired in your brain before you're born. So even if it did cause it (which it DOESN'T) you're saying you'd rather let your child suffer and die from measles, suffer chicken pox, or spreading an illness to other children who cannot vaccinate and then OTHERS die in the future; You're as bad or worse than the morons who don't want to wear a simple mask to help others today. People are so obtuse and entirely selfish.

How do you expect him to avoid his own wife and unborn child? What OP needs to do is get his wife back on side, and remind her that vaccines will help keep their child healthy, especially in its formative years.

Oh god I’m sorry. I can’t believe that trend is gaining so much attention. It really puts people that are vaccine non-responders at risk. For instance, I have gotten the hep-b vaccine so many times, but my body doesn’t respond to it so I am not protected against it, and unfortunately when I was in school I was one of the few that depended on others to have had their vaccinations. I would suggest googling some medical journals on vaccines and show her their studies to convince her otherwise.

.... I guess that your wife didn't really want the kid?
