I’m a registered dental assistant and in Michigan if your wires are poking you and you’re in pain it’s considered a dental emergency. You should be able to call and get in. Just a heads up. If your ortho office won’t do it then call your regular dds.
You can YouTube what to do. There’s dentists on there with educational videos.
Honestly just take them out yourself until you can get them back on or at least the one stuck in your gum you don’t want to get tetanus or damage anything and you need to eat

Please make some telephone calls. I am in the center of the most infected place in the country, but we are still seeing patients for emergency situations. There is no reason for you to be in pain, any practitioner can adjust the wire to get you resolved. This happens more than you can imagine.
surely there are dentists available for emergencies? my dad's crown fell out and he was able to see his dentist to get it fixed during lockdown.
