Today, a girl I like actually invited me to her birthday dinner. Unfortunately my rampant self esteem issues and crippling fear of social situations forced me to blurt out “no thank you” very loudly. She looked so hurt at the rejection and started crying. I hate myself even more FML

Send her a message somehow, even if it's by handing her a letter you explaining that your response wasn't how you intended to respond, but that you have anxiety issues that made you panic. Give it to her with a birthday gift, and if you really like her, offer to take her to lunch at a place of her choice as an apology, either in the letter or in person.
