Today, as a limo driver, I had to drive 8 guys for a night-out from their wives. I put the Michigan/Rutgers game on the radio, thinking they would appreciate that. Apparently, they wanted to listen to their "pump-up" songs instead, which were mostly Katy Perry songs. FML

I think that the reason for this comment is because men don't generally create "pump up" playlists, also the fact that many Katy Perry songs feature lyrics to teach young women that they don't need a man to be happy and successful (Roar), or that they are not some ugly piece of rubbish they are beautiful (Firework). That's all the Katy Perry songs I know, unless that "all about that base" song was by her. I'm not a fan of modern music, I prefer Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Metallica and Guns 'N' Roses.

My BF took me to go see Katy Perry in concert (our first non-rock concert). It was one of the best shows we've seen! She's an amazing artist. I hate that guys are stereotyped to only have to like sports and if they don't they're whipped.

I don't at all. The second I hear anything that sounds remotely like him I either turn the radio off or leave the store. I like my mind the way it is, not screwed up by his prepubescent wailing.

#37 "pump up" music is a quote, implying it was one of the guys that called it this. Just saying. and while I would agree that they're entitled to their own music choice, Katy Perry is a bit of an odd selection for a guys' night out.

I'm with #38. I hate sports and find them mind numbing. Katy Perry isn't my favorite artist by any means, but I do enjoy her music, and I'd choose it over a sports game on the radio every time.
