Today, as usual, my mom got shitfaced and started berating me for something. This time, it was for missing a therapy appointment. Not only am I unable to drive, it was her appointment. For her alcoholism. FML

I'd think it's time to hide all the bottles...

I guess she lives by the term "I'm a drunk, alcoholics go to meetings".

One word OP- alanon/alateen. For you. Now. Call. Someone will give you a ride. Get help. Ignore all these doofuses suggesting hiding or smashing your moms bottles and do something that will actually help you. 12 steps is the answer.

12 steps is the worst program to point someone to for recovery, it dismisses their failure of self control as a 'disease', it drives strong-willed people away by trying to force them to say they're powerless, and it tries to push that the only method of recovery is to embrace religion. If even if it helped you, you would be stuck in that support group for the rest of your life as a weak-willed individual continuously bringing up how you ****** up your life to everyone else. A secular group that deals with overcoming addiction would be a much better alternative.

#50: I agree with pretty much all of that, except that if one is strong-willed, one doesn't need help beating an addiction. It's the weak-willed that need the help, and constantly whine about how it's not their fault, and that they "can't help it".

I understand OP, my mom is the same way, except she doesn't have the guts to even get help with her alcohol problem.

I think it's time to call Child services or just leave if she's constantly treating you like that hun

I disagree with all the comments saying "Hang in there, she needs your support!" No. Put yourself first.
