It depends on how you said it, I suppose. But it's never acceptable for a customer to throw his coffee at the staff; that's just abusive.

He threw a hot coffee at you? Could probably press charges against the customer and Sue the company for wrongful termination. Sounds like the type of place you wouldn't want to work for anyways.

I learned that in those types of situations just do what they say and don't comment. As long as they believe they got what they ordered all is good.
You don’t want to work for a company who allows that kind of behavior from customers anyways. Hope you can find something better.
